Khione
February 2020
When a good samaritan found Khione, she was buried in a snowdrift. This caring person had to literally dig her out and then he brought Khione to the Ohio SPCA. Her condition was life-threatening. She had a severe upper respiratory infection and a serious injury to her hind end. Underweight and sick, Khione was unable to stand. She was given a mild sedative so we could clean her up and assess her wounds and then she was bedded down with a heated pad. Dr. Mary Koelsch from Kessen’s Veterinary Clinic examined and treated Khione. Dr. Mary believes that this sweet girl was frozen to the ground or to ice resulting in her skin being ripped off. We are fighting along with Khione as she is not out of the woods yet.
