Shirley Ann arrived with her parents, Gertie and Billy, in August 2024. They were surrendered to us by the owner, who was no longer able to care for them due to a life change. She was a cross between a Norwegian and a Nigerian Pygmy. She was 10 years old and severely emaciated when she arrived. She was not eating, and her rumen had stopped working. With antibiotic and vitamin injections by the vet, she made an almost immediate rebound and started eating. Less than a month after she arrived, she was unable to get up, and we had to say goodbye. This sweet girl won everyone over with her infectious smile and gentle nature.
