Ohio's Leading Voice for the Animals
Henry
Henry was rescued in 2007 along with an illegally kept lion. That was a lucky day for this Nigerian Pygmy goat, as he was going to be supper, not for the lion, but for the men who had held him captive along with the big cat. The lion was taken to a big cat sanctuary in Ohio, and we happily added Henry to our farm sanctuary family. Henry’s story, beginning with his rescue, became a testament to the power of compassion. In May 2024, when Henry was 18 years old, we had to say goodbye. He was a fighter to the end, but his body was tired, and he could no longer get up. For 17 years, this quiet, gentle, and fearless little goat was much loved by all volunteers.
